Custom Laminated glass is a combination of two or more glass sheets with one or more inter-layers of resin. It is manufactured in the hands of experienced workers of Giovani Glass by pouring liquid resin into the cavity between two sheets of glass which are held together until the resin cures. In case of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragments together and continues to provide resistance to the passage of persons or objects. Laminated glass is considered to be safety glass under the various building codes and international glass standards.

Laminated glass flooring is produced by bonding two or more layers of heat treated pressured glass together with a plastic resin interlayer, which is known as Polyvinyl Butyral (PVB). Multiple PVB glass sheets are more popularly used by the automobile industry and the airline industry for designing windshields.
The PVB interlayer makes glass floors impervious to water damage, it offers sound reduction and blocks 99% of UV rays. PVB interlayers can be customized into different colored sheets to be used by glass manufactures for architects and construction engineers.

The best way to lay a laminated glass floor is by using block pavers with an aluminum grid. This newer method encases the sides and bottom edges of each glass paver block with a silicone sealant rather than the original method of using grout. The aluminum grid provides durability and reinforcement for foot traffic, as well as offering a unique element to an interior design. Glass flooring is available in several different options including crystal clear which is transparent, frost, revo, small rocks and sand. These options provide different levels of translucency and privacy, yet natural lighting can still filter in.

Tempered glass is a toughened glass manufactured through regulated chemical or thermal treatmen.
This increases its strength compared to ordinary or annealed glass and as a result, tempered glass is widely used as a safety glass. The process of tempering compresses the outer surface while putting theinner surfaces into tension.
Tempered glass is made by placing annealed glass onto a roller table then taking it through a very hot furnace of degrees of up to 650 °C. This is to ensure it heats above its transition temperature of about 564 °C to 620 °C. Rapid cooling is done on the glass with forced air while the inner parts still flow for some time. Alternatively, a chemical toughening process can be used. A surface layer of thin glass (0.1 mm thick) is compressed by ion exchange of sodium ions present in the glass with potassium ions. Potassium ions are thirty percentage larger than the sodium ions. Ion exchange takes place when the annealed glass is immersed into molten potassium nitrate. Tempered glass manufactured through chemical toughening are stronger than thermally tempered glass and is thus recommended for glass objects of complex shapes of Tempered glass. Toughened or tempered glass is a type of safety glass processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass. Tempering puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension.

Cracked, Crackle, Crackle or Shatter Top glass, whatever you may wish to call it, has a beautiful effect. Our Crackle glass is made by laminating three pieces of 1/4" glass with the middle piece tempered and then broken. That is why Crackle glass is just over 3/4" thick. For an even more interesting look, low iron glass may be used, Blue Crackle Regular Clear Crackle Low Iron Crackle Crackle Glass Bronze Crackle Low Iron Crackle laminated glass.
The two on the outside act as a shield for the third piece in the middle. First, we laminate the three pieces together. Then we use a spring-loaded punch to tap the middle pane of glass, which causes it to "explode". The explosion basically shatters the glass which is then held in place by the two outer sheets of glass. The result looks somewhat like broken glass, but is in effect a very strong wall of glass. What makes crackle glass exciting is that no two pieces are exactly the same. In other words every piece of crackle glass is unique.
We recommend crackle glass for table tops, wall partitions, shower walls and shelves.
